Gochisousama!

In fall of 2024, I had the opportunity to stay and dedicate time to create work at the Almost Perfect residency hosted by Luis and Yuka Mendo. I spent my time in Tokyo exploring the intricacies of food culture and the fleeting nature of food experiences in simple ink lines and traditional screentones. The weeks there culminated in a solo exhibition entitled “Gochisousama!,” a phrase said after meals in gratitude of the food that was enjoyed.
